EYFS This term we are learning all about the impact of the Roman occupation of Britain, including the building of Hadrianís Wall and the legacy left behind by the Romans. We have just visited the Roman Army Museum and had a fantastic walk to Hadrian's Wall itself. Later this term we will all be attending a Roman Banquet at Birdoswald dressed in Roman costumes. This term Reception will be focusing on developing their reading skills and also working hard towards meeting the 17 Early Learning Goals for the end of Reception. There will be no Woodland School sessions this term for Class 1, instead we will be making the most of the warmer weather to explore and learn outdoors within our own fantastic outside area. We will also be getting the balance bikes out to learn all about bike safety and to improve both our physical skills and our listening skills.
Our Christian value for this term is Respect. We will be using stories from the Bible, as well as lots of practical examples to bring this value to life within Class 1. Nursery and Reception for example, will be focusing on developing their social skills and learning how to be a 'good and respectful friend'.
