Tudor Banquet To conclude our Tudor topic in November, we all went to a banquet in the Great Hall in Naworth Castle. Everyone came dressed in splendid Tudor attire and looked amazing!
Philip Howard spent some time showing the children around his home and answering questions about what it would have been like to live their in the Tudor times. One of his ancestors was only nine when his father was beheaded, this was certainly a blood thirsty period of history. During the tour of the castle children climbed narrow spiral staircases, saw the trap door for the priest hole and some of the secret doorways that abound in this castle. Stuffed animals on the walls were in abundance.
The afternoon finished with a banquet kindly prepared by the Friends of Lanercost School and Julie our school cook.
History outside of the classroom at it's best!
