Class 3 Welcome back for a busy and exciting Autumn term. Our creative topic is 'The Tudors'. We will be finding out about what life was like for the Tudors; what they ate, where they lived and how they looked after themselves. Thank you for all the fantastic posters completed over the Summer; it's obvious lots of hard work and effort went in to them. Some ladies from a Tudor kitchen will be visiting school and the children will have the opportunity to make and try different things with them. We will also have a special Tudor Banquet at Naworth Castle in November where we will meet Catherine Howard. Costumes will be needed for this and a letter will go out with further information nearer the time.
In science this term we will be finding out all about rocks in our environment, visiting the grave yard and Nenthead Mines. A geologist, Steve Wright will be sharing his knowledge of rocks and Volcanoes with us. See the slide show.
We will be looking at the value of Responsibility this term through our Collective Worship and in RE Year 4 will be thinking about the question ‘What do Christians and others believe and do about wealth and poverty in the world?’ which will link to harvest. Year 3 will be looking at the question Why do Christians celebrate Harvest?’ which includes Jewish Sukkot.
