Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with additional needs

 

Temporary Contract

21 hours per week 

Salary full time equivalent: £24,496 pro rata

·         Has high expectations of learning with the ability to adapt to suit the needs of the child

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the children in the environment; following their lead, finding opportunities and helping them develop.
Assist children in their speech and language development.
Provide children who need regular sensory and regulation breaks and ensure their safety at all times.
Assist the teacher in providing a positive learning environment.
Liaise with the school’s SENDCo to ensure the children’s needs are met.
Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding the progress and development.
Take part in relevant training courses, as required.
Complete all relevant paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Although this is a temporary contract, there may be future funding to extend the contract.

The successful candidate will work initially under the direction of the Headteacher, Class Teacher and SENDCo. We offer our full support and induction programme for all new staff, and a commitment to continued professional development.
