Religion and World Views
Subject Leader: Miss K Turnbull
"People of different religions and cultures live side by side in almost every part of the world, and most of us have overlapping identities which unite us with very different groups. We can love what we are, without hating what – and who – we are not. We can thrive in our own tradition, even as we learn from others, and come to respect their teachings."
- Kofi Annan (Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006)
Religion and World Views (RWV) is important in helping young people grow up in today’s diverse, multi-faith and connected world. At Lanercost C of E Primary School, we aim to give pupils opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of different religions and beliefs and to contribute to the development of their own beliefs and values. We believe that everyone has their own unique view of the world and RWV is about exploring these views.
