A Day at Lanercost
At Lanercost C of E Primary School, we aim for every child to live life in all its fullness. Therefore, every day is filled with learning, opportunities and much more in a safe, caring and compassionate environment. When joining a new school or returning from a school holiday, there can be many questions. At the bottom of the page is our current School Uniform Policy and Attendance Policy. School Times
Hours Per Week 33 hours 20 minutes (this does not include before and after-school clubs)
Compulsory Hours Per Week: 32.5 hours
Attendance expectations
The school will monitor attendance, and any absence will be followed up. If your child is going to be absent, please get in touch with the school before 9.00 am to let us know. Please ensure your child arrives at school on time; arriving late can impact their learning.
Book bags
Please bring your belongings to school in your school book bag or an appropriately sized bag. Each child has 2 pegs: one for their coat and one for their bag.
Water bottles and Snack
Please bring in your own water bottle refilled each day with fresh water. A piece of fruit can be a healthy snack (Y 3 -6).
Children in YN – Y2 are entitled to free fruit through the Government scheme.
Dropping off and Collecting
Please drop your child/ren off at school between 8.35 - 8.50. Under no circumstances should your child be dropped off without a staff member at the gate. If there isn't a member of staff, please wait for the opening times or go to the office if it is after 8.50 a.m. If you are parking to drop off, please reverse into your space. If your child is getting out of the car, please drive in a circle in the car park to enter and exit.
CCC School Transport
Please contact your taxi driver for times. Buses will arrive at 8:35 a.m./leave at 3:25 p.m.
Classroom Equipment
Unless advised otherwise, all the classroom equipment your child needs is available in school. In UKS2, children are allowed to bring in their own fountain pen and pencil case.
Lunch
Julie our wonderful cook provides nutritious and delicious meals for our school.
Stay and Play
Stay and Play is available everyday from 3.30-5.00pm. Contact the school office to book in advance.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast club will be available everyday from 3.30-5.00pm. Contact the school office to book in advance, last minute bookings must be made by 1:00 p.m. on the day before the club is required and are subject to space availability.
