Safeguarding at Lanercost

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and something that we take great care to be aware of at Lanercost Church of England Primary School.


If you have a serious safeguarding concern about a child that is in an emergency situation please call the Police immediately on 999.


If you have a serious concern about a child or young person that requires immediate attention please call the Cumberland Safeguarding Hub on 0333 240 1727


As a church school, we are committed to every child having a safe and happy upbringing, where children are free to grow up with integrity and dignity. Anyone who joins our school will be expected to share this commitment and should any concerns arise, to be proactive in following procedures and seeking advice from appropriate agencies as outlined in our safeguarding policy.


In school, our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Wilkinson, our Deputy Safeguarding Leads are Miss Turnbull, Mrs. Lawton and Mrs Ruddick. Our Safeguarding governor is Mrs Hatt. A list of these names is displayed in the entrance hall for visitors and parents to view and the information has also been shared with the children.
